Marking a Synchronized Skating Program
Short Program Standards
The Short Program consists of five required elements:
Two marks are awarded for the short program:
First mark for the required elements
There must be considered:
|
roundness, equal spacing, holds, direction of skating, quality and difficulty of step sequences, control of rotation, speed, cleanness of edges |
|
Straightness, direction, type, quality of holds, direction of skating, quality and difficulty of step sequences, speed, cleanness of edges |
|
Type of configuration, spacing between lines, type and quality of holds, direction, quality and difficulty of step sequences, direction of skating, speed, cleanness of edges |
|
Type, direction, type and quality of hold(s), control of rotation, speed, equal spacing of spokes, quality of step sequences, cleanness of edges and for combinations and/or variations, transitions |
|
Difficulty of maneuver, quality and difficulty of step sequences, specing at the point of intersection, movements at the point of intersection, speed, cleanness of edges, variety of holds and for combinations, transitions |
Second mark for presentation
Free Skating Standards
The free skating consists of a well balanced program which must contain:
|
a variety of circles, lines, blocks, wheels and intersections of which no maneuver is dominant. There must be a balance among all maneuvers. |
|
step sequences of intricate variety used to enhance both the maneuvers and the tranitions |
|
Three different holds for senior teams, two different holds for junior teams |
|
No lifts, no jumps of more than one revolution |
|
One change of tempo in the music selected |
Two marks are awarded for the free skating:
First mark for the technical merit
There must be considered:
- Difficulty
- Variety of elements
- Cleanness and sureness of skating edges with appropriate speed and flow
- Precision and smoothness of transitions
Second mark for presentation
There must be considered:
